Due to the difficulty of using credit cards or traveler’s checks, it will be necessary to bring enough cash with you for the duration of your stay in Cuba. How much to bring is dependent upon the individual traveler.

However, as a general rule you should plan on bringing at least as much as you’d normally spend on any other vacation. Prices can be similar to those in America, and it can be challenging to obtain more money if you run out.

Securely carrying your funds in a money belt is also a good idea.
